The National Mall- Thursday
For the second week in a row, a Thursday with nothing to do had led Sabine and Lana out of town, though today they'd extended the invitation to a few other people.
You know. To go check out museums, like the nerds they were. And to hide in the air conditioning, because it was gross outside.
So it was off to DC for the dayhandwavily around class times, with shirts available to wear that read "FANDOM COSTUME SOCIETY" to help the non-humans blend in. Would it work? Who knows!
[NFB for distance, and for those who know who they are, though if you happen to be in DC, feel free to stop in!]

Let's go to the Mall!
And I want to get Robin Sparkles stuck in people's heads.
National Gallery of Art
The Calder exhibit might be one of her favorite things so far, though, since just walking in sort of looked like she was walking into one giant piece (minus all the other people), and then she could study everything separately, too.

National Air & Space Museum
So, here she was, decked out in one of those costume society shirts (and steadfastly ignoring anybody looking her way and murmuring) and staring with some degree of consternation up at an aircraft that looked like it could barely sustain flight for more than a full minute.
... She wasn't wrong. The Wright Brothers' first flight had been shy of a minute by a single second.
Re: National Air & Space Museum
And yes, wearing a costume society shirt with leggings and boots. If anybody tried staring at her, she was staring right back. They didn't seem to meet her eyes for long.
"The manned probe looks like a stiff wind would destroy it."
Re: National Air & Space Museum
"I'm not opposed to finding out if it would it you're not," Vette chirped.
Because Vette was terrible. And just overall frustrated with this entire dumb planet.

And, of course, spotting a familiar face among the visitors wasn't too bad, either. Plus, Prompto was getting his own glances and murmurs, though it had nothing to do with his appearance.
"Hey, Vette!" he waved, and up with the camera. "Picture?"
She was very photogenic, so sue him. Plus it was just his go-to crutch to make talking to people more easy.
Re: National Air & Space Museum
"Picture!" Vette was immediately twirling around to face Prompto, striking a pose. Because heck, it made the guy happy, and it was something to focus on that wasn't being stuck here, being stared at. "Wookiee!"
At this point, people were going to start thinking that 'Wookiee' was some kind of weird Twi'lek codespeak or something.

"This is pretty nice," she decided, getting out her phone because she was going to need some pictures of this.

It didn't hurt that Norman was pretty chill when things weren't exploding in his face or anything, granted.

Even if it was a little strange that he seemed to be getting quite a fair share of the tourists' attentions that might otherwise be reserved for the exhibits.
Re: National Museum of Natural History
She wouldn't even spend an inordinate amount of time on the gemstones, though she did try sensing them all through the Force to analyze what sort of structures they had.
She nodded to Sidon when she saw him.

LITERALLY EVERYWHERE.
Prompto was ready and rearing to go, and if anyone thought that he was going to be able to stay in one place more very long when there was so much to see and so much to take pictures of, well, then, clearly, you did not know Prompto very well yet!

But someday when she got home, if she ever had anyone worth telling about this whole experience, she was taking pictures of what they considered "flight" as proof.
