The National Mall- Thursday
For the second week in a row, a Thursday with nothing to do had led Sabine and Lana out of town, though today they'd extended the invitation to a few other people.
You know. To go check out museums, like the nerds they were. And to hide in the air conditioning, because it was gross outside.
So it was off to DC for the dayhandwavily around class times, with shirts available to wear that read "FANDOM COSTUME SOCIETY" to help the non-humans blend in. Would it work? Who knows!
[NFB for distance, and for those who know who they are, though if you happen to be in DC, feel free to stop in!]

And yes, wearing a costume society shirt with leggings and boots. If anybody tried staring at her, she was staring right back. They didn't seem to meet her eyes for long.
"The manned probe looks like a stiff wind would destroy it."
Re: National Air & Space Museum
"I'm not opposed to finding out if it would it you're not," Vette chirped.
Because Vette was terrible. And just overall frustrated with this entire dumb planet.
Re: National Air & Space Museum
She looked sideways at Vette. "I'm not above seeing if it still flies, though."
She crossed her arms and covertly held a hand out toward the lunar lander, raising it a fraction of an inch.
Re: National Air & Space Museum
Vette blinked, and stared at the thing as it lifted off the floor. She... she had never seen the Force in action like this, Lana's luggage notwithstanding, and it was a little mind-boggling to see it at work on something so much larger than a case containing laundry.
"That's the first impressive thing I've seen in here all day."
Re: National Air & Space Museum
The lander flew a few more inches up.
A couple tourists on one side noticed, and started taking pictures.
Re: National Air & Space Museum
"Hey, look," she said, grinning into a hushed whisper. "It really can fly."
Re: National Air & Space Museum
She set it slowly spinning.
Somewhere, an alarm went off.
"Oh, dear."
Re: National Air & Space Museum
Since she sort of stood out in a crowd and all.
Re: National Air & Space Museum
And with all the people in the way, she was having a hard time seeing where she wanted to put it down, and gritted her teeth to avoid yelling at them to move!
Re: National Air & Space Museum
It was really hard to hold her lekku behind her like they were just cheap props when they wanted very much to get twitchy. Being grabbed by Earth security for messing with a piece of their stupid history was not on her list of things to do today.
... Then again, busting out of an Earth prison could be fun...
No. Not today.
Re: National Air & Space Museum
Which didn't mean she wasn't setting it down as quickly as she could, wincing a little at the thud, and making sure nobody noticed them.
Re: National Air & Space Museum
It was a crappy relic, Lana! Take it from the relic hunter!
"Okay, now can we go? I kind of stand out, here."
And security was pretty much there, now.

Re: National Air & Space Museum
And Vette was taking a couple of wary steps backwards as well, before turning to just straight-up walk away.
"Yeah, it got boring fast."
Once it stopped hovering, and all.

"Depends on the prison."
And how easy it was to get out of it again.

Well.
Not since she'd met Nok, anyway.
