seriesofbaddecisions: (the everchanging hair)
When Sabine finally had enough of ~things~, it manifested in things like hair color. And with her hair in particular, it was a process. So today she was taking over the girls' bathroom, and by now was doing the application of new color, dressed in lounge pants and a t-shirt so she didn't ruin clothes that actually mattered.

This was art. Really intensive art, that ruined towels.

[Open if you have a reason to be here!]
seriesofbaddecisions: (good with this)
Sabine had had a busy day. She'd played around at the offices a little. Rescued the real true hatchet (sorry, Paris). Figured out the deal in Rosa's office (it was recon). Got an egg. Made sure the hatchet had enough time to dry for most of the night. And then, so late that it might as well be morning, she snuck out to go back to the offices. Or, to one specific office.

She could just show up to class with the hatchet and win... or she could show off. If anyone found it between now and class, it still literally had her name on it. So, why not take a chance and make a super show-offy statement while also testing herself?

She made sure the hatchet was safely strapped to her back and got the door open, and said, "This is going to be fun."

[NFI, and NFB, me.]
seriesofbaddecisions: (upper hand)
Sabine knew where the real hatchet was, and she had a plan for it, but she was fully acting like she didn't. It'd be suspicious if she was reported looking for it and then suddenly gave up. So her plan now was to mix things up a little: set off some traps, find some decoys and switch their hiding spots, just to keep it interesting.

This was an office she hadn't been to yet! She'd just take a bit to work the lock...

[Expecting one but can be open for heisting!]
seriesofbaddecisions: (the artist at work)
After all the carnival stuff, and then preparing for tomorrow, Sabine still had some paint left over and an idea in her head. So late enough, when she was sure no one would be around, she made her way down to the teachers' offices, jimmied the lock on one door (thanks, Rosa!), and slipped inside.

And then, she got to work on the back side of the door.

[All done with permission, and NFB! Honestly she'd have done this even without the Final Destination prompt.]
seriesofbaddecisions: (observing)
For the second week in a row, a Thursday with nothing to do had led Sabine and Lana out of town, though today they'd extended the invitation to a few other people.

You know. To go check out museums, like the nerds they were. And to hide in the air conditioning, because it was gross outside.

So it was off to DC for the day handwavily around class times, with shirts available to wear that read "FANDOM COSTUME SOCIETY" to help the non-humans blend in. Would it work? Who knows!

[NFB for distance, and for those who know who they are, though if you happen to be in DC, feel free to stop in!]
seriesofbaddecisions: (it's gonna be okay)
Sabine really had more than enough reasons to decide that she was fine on her own, that she didn't need other people, but apparently when her roommate was going through some things, it bothered her. It wasn't anything she was equipped to help with, and Astrid wasn't someone she wanted to push, but luckily they spoke the same language.

Which was how a gift card to the art store ended up on Astrid's desk with a note reading Make what you want with the stuff you want. Art was catharsis.

And then she tried to sneak out, because surprises were surprises and she wasn't doing this for a reaction.

[Open if anyone wants to catch her on the way out, or if the roommie wants to see her present!]
seriesofbaddecisions: (okay)
Lana and Sabine had talked earlier in the week about hitting up the mainland, seeing some museums, learning some things about this place. It was even one of the very rare occasions Sabine would also be out in jeans and a (bright) t-shirt, since armor wouldn't really blend in in public. After a few months here, it was good to get outside and see what at least a little, normal portion of Earth was like.

They'd picked the Science Center, and had maybe had slightly different expectations of what it would be like. This meant that once they'd gotten out of the planetarium theater show, Sabine's reaction was "well. That was cute..."

[For that Sith chick, NFB for distance!]
seriesofbaddecisions: (taken aback)
Sabine was really very tired of being a bird. Sure, flying was cool, and she'd still actually gotten some painting in, but she missed speaking, and thumbs, and her armor, and food. Also, she was kinda side eyeing her roommate pretty hard. Mostly, she just wanted to be herself again.

And just like that, one minute she was hopping around on a half-painted bright pink desk, and the next, she was Sabine again, with decidedly fewer clothes than she'd started out with. She yelled, and rushed to find her clothes- the dorms were quiet, no one would pick that moment to come to the door, right?- trying to them on as fast as humanly possible.

Real cute, Fandom.

[Open, ofc, with possible work slowness!]
seriesofbaddecisions: (pleased)
Been a while since I've done one of these! I am off to the wilds of SDCC where my battery life will be precious and conserved, which means my characters are getting scarce. So:

-Sabine is an actual wren who is incredibly displeased by this! [personal profile] whiteoleander gets modding rights.
-Rey is an actual ray. I know Jedi are cats but she's not one yet and there's a method to my madness. Feel free to see her around the beach if you want. Stealing her clothes will warn you a beat down. Not saying you shouldn't do it, but by doing so you enter into a contract for a beating.
-Brooke is off in New York, being important.
-Kitty is around, just quiet. Class will get posted like normal.
-Jaina and Sia are already off in alumniland. Jaye technically still exists.

That's all! I'll be back on Tuesday!
seriesofbaddecisions: (the everchanging hair)
Sabine had hit this spot here where she was just kind of bored and restless and not feeling like she was doing anything. Naturally this meant painting something, but she wasn't feeling particularly inspired there either right now, so she had decided to paint her desk a bright pink, and maybe it'd end up more covered in stuff when she was feeling it.

Look, no one had ever told her she couldn't.

She'd opened a window and turned on a fan, put a tarp down and pulled the desk away from the wall enough to be able to work, and was currently sitting on the floor with the sprayer. See, this at least felt better.

[For the roomie!]
seriesofbaddecisions: (quietly listening)
Sabine really didn't mind if she made people nervous. The way she figured, her people had earned that reputation, and that was passed down to her along with her armor. There hadn't been many situations where it'd been a downside.

But she'd never had someone admit she worried them and tell her why before. He hadn't had anything to worry about with her for several reasons, but he hadn't known that. She couldn't exactly explain the reason she was still thinking about it, except that maybe she wasn't used to people giving her that kind of chance anymore.

Would she say any of that out loud? Of course not.

Instead, she was drawing on the walls of her room, testing out some paint markers she got. This week had given her inspiration material, so colorful, cartoonish gremlins and dinosaurs were making their appearances against the gray wall. It worked fine, but maybe wasn't as satisfying as her usual stuff.

[Door and post open!]
seriesofbaddecisions: (in shadow)
When your last school had been the Imperial Academy, it was still weird to be going somewhere that left you with three days off from classes during the week, with one of those days being spent in competition for a singing toy fish. It did give Sabine time in her warehouse, though, which already had some scattered graffiti around, and she'd spent enough time setting things up so it was at least the start of what she wanted.

It was also very quiet, though, and so she decided to change that by testing some things out.

So it was possible that if you were in the area you might hear a couple very small explosions from inside the warehouse with the firebird on the door. But just a couple, because her resources were limited until she found connections here. But, the place had some interesting splatter art now!

[Can be open! Might wanna knock, though!]
seriesofbaddecisions: (paint!)
With the new warehouse project, Sabine had spent part of yesterday stocking up on supplies, which were needed because she also had another project. If she was stuck here, she was at least making it look good.

Today she was focusing on the room, with the window and door open for ventilation, and tarps ready if she needed to put them down over anything. She'd started with some basic stuff, then decided she hated the way it looked on white walls, so she'd laid down some gray paint next to it to see if that made the colors pop more. Would Astrid mind If she covered the walls first...?

[Door and post open!]
