A paintball course on the mainland- Sunday afternoon

On one hand, this really wasn't Sabine or Lana's holiday. But it was a good excuse for a date, even if their version of celebrating something like Valentine's Day meant finding a paintball course on the mainland.

As it turned out, they weren't even the only people with this idea. The course was filled with couples who were probably more concerned with being cute together than actually playing.

Which was why as they were getting their gear, Sabine said, "So we're going to destroy everyone here, right?"

[For the girlfriend!]

"I think that goes without saying," Lana answered, grinning. "The only question is how artistically you can take them down."

Lana rolled her eyes. "Earth. Their loss. It's a shame we only get to use one colour, though. I'm sure you're up to the challenge, but it would be more exciting with more."

She paused. "Are there rules against capturing other people's guns and using those?"

"Good enough," Lana said. She checked her "weapon" and tried to make sure it would fire as well as possible. "What colour shall we start with?"

Lana would be totally flustered if she realized that, but she just nodded. "Yellow it is." She grabbed up the ammunition. "Frontal assault or sneak attack?" She looked around at the other mostly-couples. "I doubt we'd have a problem with straight on; most of them seem a bit distracted. On the other hand, sneaking probably gives us time to get closer and take their weapons."

"Right, then." Lana grinned. "Let's try for the entire rainbow."

Outside there was a bit of forest to one side, and she headed for that, keeping her eyes open for anyone else with a similar idea. Just because nobody here had the training of a Sith or a Mandalorian didn't necessarily mean they weren't intelligent.

And shortly after that, a yelp about five feet away as Lana got his partner, who'd been invisible behind a tree but clearly there in the Force. She saluted Sabine and ran carefully over to get the woman's gun.

"Hey! What -"

"Ours now," Lana announced cheerfully.

"We'll see they get back," Lana told him.

"Hopefully," she said to Sabine. "Or we could just try for...what is it they call it here, a speed run?"

Lana grinned. "I like that. You're on. Don't think this means I don't want to see your art on them, though."

It might be a very slight handicap, but hey, blasters weren't Lana's primary weapon.

Lana thought about it. "There were what, ten or twelve groups of people? Five minute maximum," she decided. It probably wouldn't take either of them that long, but you never knew.

Lana thought for a second, then shrugged and dropped the extra gun back in her target's lap; two would be more of a liability for her than a help.

She headed off to where she could feel another pair of opponents. A broken branch in the opposite direction got their attention long enough for her to hit them both, and then she was heading off again.

Lana was sticking with yellow; might as well make it obvious who was winning.

It was definitely them. Not the pair she sniped from the top of a hill; they were barely even trying.

Lana was aware she was probably falling behind, and her next pair had actually spread out a little, so she had to pick them off one at a time.

Fortunately, taking out the first distracted the other one. The first shot just winged him, but Lana ducked behind her cover, grimaced, and shot again, getting him square on.

Blades were so much more accurate!

There would be at least one more, because without using the Force to enhance her movement, Lana was having a slower go of it, and the latest pair was being fairly smart, so she had to work her away around them, sighing at the loss of time, but ultimately getting one of them and drawing a bead on the other.
