Hello, meet my new student!
Look, I apped from Star Wars! Yes, again! Shut up! This time it's from Rebels. There are already some characters repped in game (Hi Kanan and Hera!) but in case you somehow don't know Rebels is the animated series that takes place in the years leading up to A New Hope. It follows a small crew of people as they try to make life difficult for the Empire and eventually get pulled into the larger Rebellion. And really, no one should be surprised I ended up apping from this as chosen families aboard spaceships is kiiiiind of my jam.
In the future, Sabine's going to hook up with the Ghost crew as their demolitions and munitions expert/cool big sister on the ship, but not before some time wonkiness while she's stuck in Fandom. Oops!
Sabine Wren is a Mandalorian warrior, artist, and demolitions expert. She’s also kinda been through it by this point. She comes from a high ranking family where her mother is a countess, grew up steeped in warrior culture, and then went off to the Imperial Academy, where she was a good little cadet. At least until she inadvertently built the Empire a superweapon called the Duchess, which reacted with the alloy in Mandalorian armor and would turn the wearer to ash. You know, like you do. She was a too-smart kid who thought of it as a challenge, and had no idea they would ever do anything with it. The Empire then used it subjugate her people without her consent, since they're the Empire and that's kind of their thing. Sabine spoke out against this WITH GOOD REASON, her family sided with the Empire instead of with her, and she took off and became a bounty hunter for a while because Star Wars. And then her bounty hunter friend and partner left her for dead. Oh, and all this happened in or around her early teens.
Are you going to find out any of this? Not willingly! Sabine is extremely tight-lipped about her past, so expect a lot of short answers and evasions.
She's understandably got some very real trust issues, so she'll probably be cool to people at first, and is pretty good at giving people a hard time if she feels like it. Once you've earned her trust, though, it's a different story. She's also insanely capable and way too good at things. (She gets called a Mary Sue a lot but I will argue that it makes sense with her backstory!) She's ridiculously smart and picks things up quickly and she's going to be speaking more Earth languages than you soon.
Art is Sabine's big thing. She's frequently changing her hair and her armor, and she's going to paint on anything she's allowed to paint on. (Or that no one specifically tells her she can't paint on.) She’s slow to warm up to people and not super into sharing personal stuff, so her art is her story. Her armor especially changes as her life does.
She’s always going to be wearing said armor, unless otherwise stated. She probably won’t have her helmet with her most of the time here, and her armor has been modified for the best mobility. There’s a black bodyglove she wears that the armor bonds to, and then there’s the breastplate (which sports an orange firebird, along with other designs), shoulderpads, and guards for her shins and forearms. She also wears black gloves and boots that are always covered in paint splatter. She's big on weaponry, and carries two blaster pistols in holsters when she’s not in the dorms, and there’s a decent chance she’s got a bomb or two on her, especially when she sees what Fandom can do. (She’s insanely careful, you’re fine.) And she loooooves her explosives. She designs them, she makes them, she incorporates paint into them… blowing things up is literally a method of self-expression if you’re Sabine.
Sabine is about 5’4” right now and built like a stick figure. She has what Wookieepedia describes as tan skin and word of god RTs confirm she's Asian, with brown eyes, and she has short hair that changes a lot and is in fact probably two-toned. Her eyebrows are also dyed whatever the darker color is because it may be temporary but she is committed.
What I’m saying is, don’t take her icons too literally. I'll try to note when her look changes, and throw it into her profile if you need to reference it for some reason.
And maybe your character’s not a fan of Mandalorians! Or you come from Legends, where they’re different than canon and that’s why Karen Traviss quit Star Wars! That’s totally cool. If you come at Sabine with wariness or hostility she’ll regard you that way right back, but she doesn’t have a problem with anyone or any group herself.
Otherwise she’s just your normal, super colorful, too-smart teenage girl.
And all of my other characters have updates since the last time I did one of these, so let's get them too!

-25 years old. Which kind of freaks me out a little.
-From X-Men comics, right after Avengers vs X-Men happened.
-Is a mutant whose natural state is intangible. Long story short, she can phase herself through objects, typically doesn't use doors because she doesn't have to, and can pull others/other things with her. This is pretty common knowledge, she doesn't care who knows it.
-Is an X-Man, though not part of the current roster for reasons. This is less common knowledge, but she doesn't hide it.
-In town she runs Caritas and teaches when she's able.
-Married toso_hawkward.
-And they're having a baby this fall!

-From the new Star Wars movies. If given the opportunity I will talk your ear off about how much I loved The Last Jedi.
-Was abandoned on a desert world at the age of five and grew up having to fend for herself. As such she's used to being a loner and is still new to forming connections with people, so she's not the best at it.
-Force sensitive, but she doesn't even really know that for sure, and it's not really presenting itself in a way most people would pick up on yet. Mainly she's just lucky at times and has a habit of picking up new things she has no right to know, but not in a way that she's ever questioned, or hasn't been able to rationalize. She now knows it's a possibility, but doesn't believe it/is in hardcore denial and is going to stay there a while.
-Will be around for the summer and then heading home (not that she knows this yet) until a really terrible week or so where she comes around on that last point. Mwahaha.

-Runs Clothes Over Bros in town, which I don't think anyone's actually been to except for food drop-offs.
-Also runs a fashion line by the same name that has several stores, has an office in New York, and runs a magazine named after herself. But was super unhappy about her entire life, so she moved back here.

-Jedi Master who's more badass than most people. She's a Chosen One who earned her title, dammit, and still takes it seriously, even if it's harder now.
-Married to Jag Fel and mom to twin boys that turn a year old this summer.
-And now she's Empress to the government her parents spend their lives trying to take down, oops. She lets Jag do his job and comes in to help where needed, but is running the Jedi school in the Empire with her universe's Tahiri and is waaaay more comfortable with that. They're not like that Empire, really.
-No, seriously, they're not like that.

-Her life completely blew the hell up over the last year or so, with the war she'd spent half her life in coming to an end, a bad breakup, her father's turn to the dark side and resulting death/coverup, and her ascension to Empress.
-Now rules the galaxy as part of the Triumvirate, along with a Jedi Master and a Galactic Alliance admiral, as they try to rebuild. It's not fun for anyone.
-Internally screaming pretty much all the time. Very rare that she'll admit it.
-Hascraftyladyparts over there heading up a stormtrooper squadron and acting as an advisor/bodyguard/the only sane person she has left.

-I play from my phone the vast majority of the time now, and my autocorrect is Special. As in, I will type a word correctly and then it'll decide I couldn't have meant that word and change it, sometimes to a nonsense word that is definitely not English. Or it'll decide not to change a clear typo, like "yes, she meant to type 'dusbt' instead of 'didn't,' that makes sense." If a ping doesn't make sense or you see something that's just insane (like Jag Fel's accidental thoughts on Palestine), I will absolutely change it, and probably capslock in the OOC.
