Room 210- Sunday afternoon

Sabine had been meaning to repaint her armor for a while, and had finally solidified her design enough to actually do it. This meant that today she was being spent in her room with the window cracked as she sat on the floor and painted all the pieces. She'd gone with a polar bear on the pauldron this time, since they'd stuck in her head in December and wouldn't get out, which had led to a color scheme in pastel pinks and blues and dark grays. It was probably a more wintery look, but that's how she was feeling.

The door was open and Sabine had a project. You could always interrupt if you didn't mind her not stopping what she was doing to make sure it all got done today with enough time to dry before tomorrow.

"Hi, Nina," Sabine said without even needing to look up. For some reason. "What's up?"

It was truly a mystery about how people always knew it was her!

"I'm, like, putting together an order for more chalk," she said, beaming. "Did you, like, need any paints or anything?????????????? It saves on shipping if we combine orders!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"Always," Sabine said, without even needing to check. Between her and Astrid, they always needed stuff. "What are the chalks for?"

"Magic," she said, wandering in to better look at Sabine's work. "Most of the complicated stuff I do needs stuff drawn in chalk before I can use the spell................"

There was a second's pause, where Sabine debated asking the question, and then decided she might as well. "I don't suppose you get to get too creative there."

Of course she'd try to see art in it.

As she took a seat on Sabine's bed, Nina considered that.

"I mean, yes and no?????????????????" she said thoughtfully. "Like, it's all about patterns and the right runes and sigils and stuff but there's definitely different styles to it all............."

"Think I can see it sometime?" Sabine asked, setting aside a shin guard for the moment. "I'm kind of curious what it looks like."

"Yeah, sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she said, smiling. "Like, it's not like what you do at all--and ohmygosh the colours you're using are so great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!--but I think they've got their own appeal????????????????"

Nina laughed.

"Though, like, I also look at them and know what they mean, so I'm probably biased................."

"If you've got your own style to it, then it doesn't need to be like what I do," Sabine smiled. "I'm not good at bird hats but have a new appreciation for those who are. If there are any."

"It's kind of wintry," she said, "but also a bit warm??????????????????"

She liked it.

"Though, like, I don't know that anyone's good at bird hats????????????"

"I'm trying," Sabine said with a sigh. "There's no time to perfect actually crafting it so I'm concentrating on design."

There would be a helmet one week. Absolutely.

"Can you, like, maybe craft ahead of time?????????????????" she wondered. "Or do you get themes or something the day of???????????????"

"Day of. We've also had two very different birds so far," she answered.

"That does make things more difficult," she admitted. "I'm, like, almost sorry I didn't take that class................."

"It's entertaining. And very dumb," Sabine said. "You're teaching now, right?"

"I am!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she said happily. "It's not a complete failure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Look, she'd been worried.

"Congratulations!" Sabine smiled. "So you like it?"

"So far," she said, nodding. "It's, like, a lot more work than I thought it would be," though a lot of that was just Nina's own need to over-complicate things, "but it's fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You should, like, come by if you've got the time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"You know, I could do that."

"Only if you've got time," she said hurriedly, though her beaming smile said loud and clear that she'd be super thrilled if Sabine made it down. "I know, like, that people have other things to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"I can stop by. I'm not that busy." Which was probably a problem.

"Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she said, throwing her hands in the air out of excitement. "I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
